Dazzling blue and dogwood roses

White card base of 14,5 cm square covered with a 14,5cm square from the Lady Pattern Paper Hello Card sheets in Dazzling Blue. I then made a diagonal cut on a another piece of paper 14,5 cm square. The daisy-like border was cut twice, using one the Tattered Lace border dies that came with a magazine. One was slipped in under the top border of the paper piece with the diagonal cut and the other one on top. Before this piece was adhered to the printed base, I cut a circle using a die from the Crealies double-stitched circle set....

Materials: Curious metal silver ice 300gsm for card base (14,5cm square card) Squares 14cm and 13,5cm from Kaisercraft Lilac Whisper Collection - Opal Smooth American Craft card stock in Blue Jean for the oval and some of the flourishes Oval die: Spellbinders floral ovals Flowers made using a Nellie's die (no longer available) and finished off with silver micro beads in the centre. Come catch some rainbows

We are chasing rainbows! Today's post is part of an exciting blog hop, initiated by Sharen Thumboo-Govindsamy. Rainbows symbolise hope and excitement. For me, a rainbow creates a glow of serenity around the environment over which it arches. I experience a feeling of peace of mind when looking at a rainbow. That is why I decided to focus more on the cool, calm colours of the rainbow when I designed my card. Shimmery butterflies

These pretty, shimmery butterflies are easy to  make. Steps: 1. Use a good quality shimmer card stock such as Curious metal 300gsm. The pigments work beautifully on this. I find that the cheaper Chinese version of shimmer crad stock does not give the same, quality effect. 2. Randomly and very lightly sprinkle shimmer pigments such as Cosmic Shimmer Pixie or Brusho - you really need very little. On the sample below, I used Pixie pigments in Candy Pink and  Brusho violet.
