Come catch some rainbows

Posted by Marie Smith on

We are chasing rainbows!

Today's post is part of an exciting blog hop, initiated by Sharen Thumboo-Govindsamy.

Rainbows symbolise hope and excitement. For me, a rainbow creates a glow of serenity around the environment over which it arches. I experience a feeling of peace of mind when looking at a rainbow. That is why I decided to focus more on the cool, calm colours of the rainbow when I designed my card.

I used a heavy curious metal silver ice for my card base and the rainbow-coloured panel, because this heavy shimmer cardstock gives such beautiful results with Cosmic Shimmer Pixie pigments and Brusho pigments. I used Pixie pigments in peacock green and aqua lagoon. I also used Brusho pigments in purple and turquoise. These were lightly sprinkled onto the cardstock and then misted with water until the colours were flowing into each other. The warmer colours were added by swiping small ink pads into the wet paper.

I used the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp-and-die set for layered stamping of the flowers. This specific set is very easy to align and makes pretty flowers in all colours.

Silver micro beads added the finishing touch for the flower centres.

Thank you for visiting. Please DO leave your footprint by leaving comment.

Stand a chance to win a die set worth R160. Winner will be selected randomly.

Have a lovely day, full of rainbows, hope and peace.

I am last in the row of crafters for this blog hop. If you missed out on the blogs of the other participating crafters, hop back right to the first one to catch up. https://thegirlwithataperunner.wordpress.com/
